Our Values, Vision and Mission

Regard’s Values, Vision and Mission statements were written after extensive consultation with staff and Service Users over a 6 month period in 2013.

At our annual staff conference we asked “What do you think Regard stands for?”. Our Service Managers, Locality Managers and Regional Directors took time to consider what they felt the Regard name meant to our Service Users, their families, Care Managers and other professionals and staff.

These comments formed the basis of our Values, Vision and Mission project. Focus groups were then held in London, Kingston upon Thames, The Wirral, and Dorset to seek the opinions and views of staff, Service Users and their support workers from our services throughout the UK.

We listen and respond with respect and show dignity to everyone that we support; this enables us to shape services that are person centred and which promote independence, empowerment and citizenship and include the use of ‘positive behaviour support’ for people whose behaviour can challenge.·

We strive to create a culture of innovation through team working and specialist services which deliver best practice and care that is second to none.


We invest in our staff in order to provide a skilled and confident workforce which delivers competent and high quality support to everyone who uses our services.

We provide resources and opportunities so that staff and managers are supported to achieve their full potential.


Regard’s vision is to be the market leader in the provision of specialist and evidence-based services, in a range of community settings, for vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, mental health disorders and other complex needs.

We will constantly benchmark the quality of our services against the expectations of the individuals we support, as well as those of their parents, family members, local authority commissioners and regulatory authorities and deliver continuous improvements at all levels of the business.


Regard’s mission is to grow and extend the business by building on our success of developing high quality and reputable services on a nation-wide basis. We will champion disability rights at local, regional and national levels and we will promote a company brand based on integrity, reliability and trust.
