Ben, who is supported at our Waverley Avenue supported living service achieved gold this month after successfully completing his Gateway Gold Award course. As part of the course Ben had to be in a working environment so Louisa Terry, Waverley Avenue’s service manager contacted Andrea Cully at neighbouring Kneller Road to ask if Ben could work there once a week. Duties included light cleaning tasks which Ben continued to do every Monday for two hours a week.

Already achieving bronze and silver in this award with some help from his parents, Ben proudly collected his certificate in an awards ceremony at his weekend social club.

Ben has chooses to continue to work once a week at Kneller Road where he benefits from his interaction with different people and continues to develop his skills.
