On Friday 16th June, Care Homes all over the country participated in a national event as part of the Care Home Open Day.
Inglewood House, our residential service in Camberley, were one of the many services who opened their doors to get involved in this. They threw an afternoon tea which the guests said reminded them very much of Wimbledon.
Old fashioned music was played which was enjoyed by everyone at the party. This saw everyone reminiscing about the great times over the years at Inglewood House.
The party was enjoyed so much by everyone that they have decided they will be throwing another celebration during the Wimbledon Championships this year. But the scones, strawberries and cream will be a little bit cheaper than Wimbledon!
Care Home Open Day as a national event is all about showing people what excellent care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of local communities, developing relationships across the generations.
The afternoon was described by the people we support as ‘lovely’, and everyone is looking forward to the next one.
