Jamie, who lives at Arden House (a supported living service in Brighton, East Sussex) achieved one of his goals by completing and passing a three-month first aid training course. The course, first aid, and emergency response was in partnership with the British Red Cross.

Jamie is a smart twenty-year-old and has always been passionate about helping people.

With the completion of the course, he now has the skills and confidence to be able to cope in an emergency situation.

Jamie is now fully insured and DBS checked, trained to national standard in first aid technique including resuscitation and defibrillator training also.

As a first aider, Jamie will be able to assess the situations, protect himself and members of the public from danger and prevent infections, comfort and reassure when needed, to give casualty first aid and to stay calm when a first aid situation becomes a major incident and to be in control.

This training will give Jamie the tools to progress onto ambulance crew training and learn to drive an ambulance.

The last goal will be to become an event officer, watch this space!
