Last month, Kay and Sandra, from our residential service Victoria and Grenville, visited a local nightclub in Plymouth.
Pop World, the popular nightclub in the area hosted a special learning disability event for the people to have the opportunity to dance, sing and party in a well-established nightclub.
Support worker, Abi Stansfield, assisted both Kay and Sandra to attend the event and organised the tickets for them ahead of the event knowing this was something they would love to do.
Abi helped them to get ready on the night and to pick out their outfits. She also built the anticipation and got them excited by reminding them for the weeks leading up to the event what they would be in store for.
Both Sandra and Kay loved dancing along to the great music all night and they got to dance with some of her friends who also came along. Sandra said: “It was so much fun!”
Kay also said: “I loved the club and I was dancing all night.”
The senior support worker at the service, Paige Marley said: “Kay and Sandra had an amazing night and loved having the opportunity to party the night away in a nightclub.”
